light bulb oh and a soap box

"After the receptionist said that I was up a pound, the devil on my shoulder told me that I should have some pizza. Or a cheeseburger. Because hell, I was already up…what’s another bad meal? And then I remembered something my awesome WW leader talked about a few weeks ago. If we realized we messed up at work, would we just say “oh screw it, I’ve already messed up, I should just keep messing up”? No way! We’d fix the problem, be more careful to not make the same mistake, and move on. However, when it comes to weight loss, it’s so easy to just throw up our hands and say “that’s it! I give up! Bring on the nachos!”. Why is that?"

I follow prior fat girl, I am one and I found this blog probably a year ago now. I was reading this contributors post about her weigh in and the fact she was up a pound. Her brain automatically told her bring on the food. I totally get that. Oh my gosh do I get it.

I don't understand what it is that has caused all this confusion and chaos over something that should simply be fuel for our bodies.

I took a survey on FB out of 100 candies I had tried 86. I knew my number would be up there, and it was. The only ones I could not cross off the list where ones I had never heard of. Over the years it's been clear, I love all things sugar. I'm the girl who will eat the frosting off the piece of cake, and go back for more frosting. I don't like cake.

I am right now procrastinating on step 4 out of my 12 steps that I am working. Why? Because I know that this is the step where it becomes about working on me, and there are factors in my life that I know I can't work on unless I'm really ready. I could also leave it alone and move on with the step without confronting it... Not sure yet what I plan to do.

Stepping on soap box:

Yesterday I read a post that was linked to through another blogger. It was about another blogger who had been rather rude regarding Kate Upton. I read through her post, a response post on another blog, and the actual post itself. I found it interesting. There was a huge backlash against the blogger who wrote the original post to the point where she went back and added a disclaimer to what she had written.

There is a huge focus on weight, appearance, etc. If you walk outside you're faced with it. I'm curious what I can do differently that will make any kind of difference.

Stepping off soap box.

I read those Kate Upton posts too. Women are so cruel. Men don't want a stick figure. They want curves and flesh they can grab onto (sorry too graphic). The fashion industry is ruled by gay men who want women to look like them!!
