I'm so swamped at work, I don't understand since this is supposed to be our slow time.
I'm thankful for wonderful family and friends who offer love and support instead of you're an idiot.
I had an awesome 4 mile run Tuesday morning. Last night Jack and I slogged through the heat and humidity on a walk. I am thankful to the lady with the garden hose who let me dog have a drink before we turned around to head back to the car.
Sometimes things surprise us, and that's what life is about. No one said life would be fair or easy, there are only 2 guarantees, you live and you die, the end. What happens in between, well I'm just thankful that God sent His Son and forgave us and loves us.
We have the girl this weekend. Full time mom's are amazing, because I know we're going to have to find a way to keep her entertained and cool at the same time, along with all the other parents this weekend.
I love my dog, he's fabulous, and I feel guilty for how much time he has to spend in his crate.
I removed all the alcohol from my house this past Tuesday, it's a new thing I'm trying, maybe I will lose a few pounds!!
I'm thankful for the girls trip to Boone!!
I'm thankful for blogs, because they help me keep my sanity at work. I'm thankful for blog archives because they help me stay positive!
I'm thankful it's Friday and I now have a new business policy to issue. Have a fabulous weekend!!!
I started writing a long time ago. I write to get my thoughts out of my head. I write to remember. I write about everything and nothing in particular.

Girls Day
Yesterday I had been looking forward to for a while!!! I started the day with a 4 mile run. Jack and I hit the pavement at 5:30 for a 4 mile run and it was perfect!! 72 degrees, still dark, only a little humid, heaven!!!
I had a girls day trip up to Boone, NC on the calendar and getting in an early morning run is a bonus!! We did this girl's trip last year and I was so excited to have a repeat!!!
My 2 roommates from college, Mama D, and KBug were all a part of yesterday. Mrs. J and I drove up to Boone and had a great conversation.
We sat in the store and talked for a long time then the girls and I went to lunch. Mama D had to stay at the store since she was by herself.
We had Thai food and walked around a few antique stores. We discussed the sad feeling that we experience anytime we come back. We love being there and we miss the days of being young and care free with no worries. It's sometimes hard to remember that we're now supposed to be all grown up and responsible and that so many years have elapsed from those easy days of class and fun.
Life brings unexpected challenges and opportunities for growth. Days like yesterday are such a wonderful time to appreciate the gift of friendship and support and love!

Thursday
I have been reading blogs this week but MIA totally on commenting. It's been a little crazy. This past Friday night kicked off restaurant week here in Charlotte.
Monday night I worked at the restaurant and since it's July even though it's restaurant week it was slow but not as slow as a normal July Monday night. I got home and I was tired, and ready to go to bed. I took Tuesday off from work since my Godparents are in town but I was waking up regular time to get a run in.
Tuesday morning early Jack Banner and I headed out for a 3 mile run. We got home and took a shower, I made him take a shower because he was starting to smell like a dog. My goal was to be at the dmv at 7:30, I was there at 7:24 I think I was maybe 10th in line for the door. It opens at 8.
8am the door opens, we proceed inside, I'm standing behind a girl who has also just gotten married, and I realize that my drivers license is still in my car because I took it out of my wallet when I had gone on my run earlier. SO I got out of line and went back to my car and got back at the end of the line. What could have been an easy 45 minutes ended up being 2 hours. Hind sight I probably could have asked the guy at the desk if I could just run and get my license real quick but I didn't and it got done so that's what matters.
I drove Jack to my parents house, I was having a girls shopping day with my Godmother and mom. We headed out and we were two stores in when we got a call from my Grandmother that she had fallen. We jumped in the car and headed her way. She bruised herself up and was very shaky but overall she was OK. After this excitement it was after 2pm and I was STARVING. Macadoo's has come to University area in Charlotte and we decided this would be the perfect place for our late lunch.
After a yummy lunch of nachos we decided to drive over to the Talbots outlet and old navy that were less then 5 minutes away. It wasn't quite the girls shopping day that we planned on but it worked out.
Last night I worked at the restaurant. Y'all remember JM, the one I met back in October, the one who I fell HEAD OVER HEELS FOR, the one who is married to his job who dumped me. At the restaurant we were having an event and the group is one he is a member of. I knew that the chance of seeing him was probably 98.9% and sure enough at 5:50 he walked through the door.
My heart pounded, I felt my skin grow hot. Yes I'm married, and yes he dumped me, and I'm so glad that I looked cute yesterday. I smiled, and said hello. We were busy at the front and he needed to go mingle. I noticed that he sat in a spot where he could watch me. The event was in our lounge area and at my restaurant the lounge and restaurant are all open and the hostess stand is visible to all.
When he was leaving he stopped to say good bye and asked if he could email me. This is when I broke the news that I'm married. He asked if he could email just to catch up and I said that would be fine, I know him he won't remember to email he's too tied up with all that's is always going on with his job. I've never met anyone as married to their job as this man is. To me it's rather sad but I do believe that he is happy and very content with how his life is, and I think it's great. I wished that he could have made time for me but it wasn't meant to be.
Here's the other part to this story. What I'm not talking about a lot is that life in the Clean home is definitely an adjustment. There have been some very very tough spots. So seeing the guy who broke my heart, who I last saw October 31, 2010, was jolting for me. I cried the whole way home. When I walked in the door, my husband, being my husband, "wow you look really bad are you OK?". Then he started trying to figure out why I looked the way I did, I had tried to stop crying before I got to a certain point but I hadn't been able to. So when I got home my eyes were still red. It took him a good 10 minutes to put it together that I'd been crying but I do give him points for figuring it out at all.
What happened, once he figured it out, we had a long significant talk. My husband has no idea just how stubborn I can be. I don't choose the easy way, and I didn't when I married him. I knew what I was getting, maybe not quite how difficult but I did understand it would be difficult. I love him, he loves me. I know him and understand him well enough to know how to move forward and learn more. It's a process, not an easy one but I believe that it's worth it and he's worth it.
So life moves forward and tomorrow is Friday and tonight I run. After last nights conversation I feel stronger and hopeful and I got another piece of the puzzle that is my husband. I'm thankful, I'm blessed. Life hands us the unexpected and sometimes it's good and sometimes it's bad but it's life and in reading this week I see in so many of our posts how life isn't always fair but I appreciate how awesome y'all are at finding the positives.

July 4 Miler
Last week I talked about the heat, then the break in the heat. Saturday morning I woke up and it was FABULOUS outside. Normal Charlotte, NC July morning are usually hot, not as hot as high noon but even in the early morning it's not much of a relief in temperature. Not as bad as further south but it's still saps you when it's time to run.
Case in point. Last years race was on July 24, 2010, one of the two hottest days of the month for Charlotte. This year it was in the low 70's in the morning and I don't think it even hit 90 degrees Saturday. Temperature makes a huge difference in my running!! When I ran this race in 2009 my chip time was 39:11. 2010 my chip time was 40:02. This year... my chip time.. 36:26!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After my race Mr. Clean and I took girl clean and walked around an antiques mall. She fell asleep while I was carrying her which gave us plenty of time to see everything. The best time to try and accomplish little trips like this are right at nap time when she falls asleep and we can look.
Church Saturday night allowed us to have Sunday morning, Mr. Clean and girl clean slept and I took Jack for a walk, went to the grocery store for a few quick things, went by the ATM and they were still sleeping when I got home. We went to his parents for lunch and my parents for dinner. Free food, yes please!!
I'm so excited about my race results, I felt awesome and it makes me want to run more!!!

procrastination, princesses, free stuff and pasta
I'm sitting at my desk, and I'm behind and I need to focus and work and instead I'm typing.
I LOVE Princess Kate, I just think she's gorgeous and classy and so in love and anytime I see new pictures I have to click and appreciate just how beautiful she is. I think if Princess Di were still alive, while she would be happy for her son, I wonder if she might have been one of those Mom's who is like Jane Fonda was in the movie with J-Lo. I read a biography on Di, which is what makes me wonder this.
I walked outside today and didn't feel like I was about to fall over from the heat, it was nice. Don't get me wrong it's still hot but it's nothing like the previous 2 days this week. Today would be lovely for laying out by a pool!!
I picked up my race number and the free shirt. It's not cotton but the other material and I am so excited to have another one, it wicks sweat away, or in my case doesn't but it's still cooler then a cotton t-shirt that eats my skin.
The store is right next to Trader J0es so I went in and purchased the yummy lemon pepper linguine for Mr. Clean, he loves that stuff!!! I wanted to peruse the wines but I didn't have the time so I purchased just the pasta and left.
I'm most likely picking up an additional shift on Sunday, I'm thankful that I can do this.
I need to have caffeine pumped straight into my veins, any tips??

Thankful Thursday
I keep reading devotionals about how a thankful heart is important. I'm going to take this to mean I need to look for what I'm thankful for.
I'm thankful that I married a man whose craziness doesn't make us a train wreck but rather we seemingly balance each other.
I'm thankful that after a very (very very very very very) tough first few weeks we seem to be adjusting.
I'm thankful for a beautiful little girl, who has a beautiful Mama and I pray that as our lives continue along intertwined there will not be a whole lot of drama.
I'm thankful that now I have 2 families who love me and a family of my very own.
I'm thankful I have a puppy who is adaptable and who is tolerating his new sister very well, even when she goes after him with her mop and he looks at me like "really???"
I'm thankful that I have a full time job that I really enjoy and even though my commute is now 30 minutes more I don't dread going into my office every day.
I'm thankful that I have a part time job that I really enjoy and a manager who when I tell him I need to pick up an additional few hours, he will let me pick those few more hours up!!
I'm thankful that once upon a time I had a closet full of clothes and shoes and I never said the words, I have nothing to wear. I will remember those days fondly.
I'm thankful that I finally committed to supporting something that really does matter to me and even though right now I'm thinking I might just be crazy for doing it I'm going to believe that since I committed to it God will provide.
I'm thankful that tomorrow is Friday and the crazy high heat temps finally broke last night and today driving in to work was pleasant and Saturday morning will not be unbearable, hot yes, unbearable, no.
I'm thankful that I found google reader and can still read blogs and I'm thankful that I found blogs before the company web monitor started blocking me from reading the blogspot.com blogs...
I better get to work, Happy Thursday!!!

the Tuesday night workout that wasn't
To this point I've done a fairly good job of reaching past exhaustion and still making myself work out. I go run or at least walk, or go to the gym.
Like the rest of the country we are having a few days of excessive heat, today will be 96 but with our humidity it's supposed to feel like 116 or something like that. Yesterday the whole way home my car read 103, nice.
I got home and Mr. Clean was working on hanging curtains, which are hung. Then he wanted to mark where to hang the picture that goes over the bed, except the back brackets fell apart and we have to return it.
Mr. Clean can cook, well. I texted him yesterday telling him not to worry about dinner that I would be fine. Well he went to the store anyways. He made rice, yummy rice with sauteed shrimp with a cherry glaze sauce something or other. He'd had an idea that he wanted to try and while I never in a million years would have added the cherry portion I was pleasantly surprised at how awesome it was!!!
I had every intention of going to run at the gym after I ate. Except I was already tired. My back has been hurting. We lost power right as I was finishing... I was not about to go get ridiculously hot only to come home to a hot house. The power came back on at 8:38. I fell asleep, and woke up an hour later.
I ended up not running or doing anything last night. I have thank you notes to write, they're not done. I have to work tonight at the restaurant so they won't get done tonight. I have an appointment tomorrow night and then I need to fit in a work out and then clean the bathroom because it's our weekend to have Girl Clean. Friday night I close at the restaurant and Saturday morning I'll need to leave at 6 to be at my friends house at 7 for our 4 mile race.
I'm thankful the heat breaks a little after today and the day of the race is not going to be as hot. It will still be hot and exhausting but not nearly as bad as what it has been.
I love my husband. No question. I'm blessed. However, this week the question going around and around in my head is what next??? I met the guy, we fell in love, we got married. We're now figuring out how to live with each other and get along and continue on this story together. We have the baby, and she is there part time so it's actually very cool for me, right when real life starts up again we're giving her back to her mom. Where do I go from here??? It's something I'm currently contemplating.

driving in to work
OK first let me say that I now spend A LOT of time in the car. My commute one way is 50 minutes. I knew it was going to be longer, I know why I was the one who moved. I'm fortunate that traffic moves and I'm not sitting I'm actually moving.
I was thinking back, which I've done a lot lately. 4 years ago there was another little girl in my life. That little girl was 4. With her Dad we went to see Lion King and she loved it. I've had to really watch myself from calling my little girl by this little girls name. They are nothing alike personality wise but looks wise they are both blonde headed blue eyed sprites.
My little one is a firecracker, she comes by it honestly! Her mom and dad are both wild childs with crazy pasts and strong personalities. Her mom is awesome, and as I'm learning more I'm starting to understand more. I'm thankful that I asked up front the relationship between her mom and dad. I'm thankful I had the experience from before to know that a poisonous relationship between 2 adults with a child involved was not a situation I would put myself in again.
I'm thankful that because of the blonde haired blue eyed 4 year old I learned that time goes by way too fast. That you have to treasure every moment. I learned that you have to constantly remind yourself that they are a little person and you have to teach them and talk to them and remember that they are, a little person.
My little one wraps her arms around my legs and says I love you, and I melt!!! She's started telling her Dad and I that she loves us, voluntarily, without prompting, and it gets me, every time!!!

Stella
I mentioned in a previous post about this organization. At church this weekend there was a group visiting and they shared their stories. There was a moment on Saturday night before the baskets were passed for the love gift when Pastor Jay said you might have to give up that new outfit.. he said a few other things but obviously this is the one that will stick with me :p
I can't explain why this particular ministry has captured this place in my heart. I have heard the stories. I know there are so many places all over the world where they need people to contribute. My church contributes, literally, to missionaries all over the world plus within our community. I can't explain why this area of the world has caught my attention so many times over the years.
This time I couldn't shake it. This time I couldn't forget the faces and the stories. This time it was too much and I couldn't not do something.
I may be working at the restaurant for the next 20 years in addition to my full time job but I will give. As I was driving to lunch I thought about the fact that maybe there is more in store for me. If that's the case then it's really going to be a writing on a stone wall moment. Organizing my life, as hectic as it is, makes for even a day off from work complicated, I can't imagine trying to leave for an entirely different continent. So I said the prayer, that if this is something that I'm really supposed to do then I will do my part. Prayers like that are not my favorite to pray, they usually result in me having to step WAY out of my comfort zone!!!

Prayers like that are not my favorite to pray, they usually result in me having to step WAY out of my comfort zone!!!
work, running, family, weekend
Friday night I worked.
Saturday morning I had an awesome workout at the gym. There is a diner that is directly on my way home and less then 5 minutes from the house. I told Mr. Clean to order himself breakfast and I would pick it up on my way home. I have to look for ways to do nice things because presents are not really his thing. So stopping to pick up breakfast, vacuuming, spending time with him, these are the ways I can show him that I love him.
Saturday after I got ready we made a trip to a craft store to look for ivy to put on top of the cabinets in the kitchen. We found what he had in his head and the kitchen is now, for the most part, completely decorated.
Saturday afternoon I went to see my Grandmother for her birthday. My mom and I had originally planned to go to lunch. My Grandmother fell one day last week injuring her leg. She called mom Saturday so say that she just couldn't go out she was in way too much pain. So we brought lunch to her. I showed up, mom brought lunch.
My mom loves me, and I get it. I would probably resent it if she had handled this differently but regardless, I'm going to have to just accept that she will never like my husband, end of story. This particular situation, I did acknowledge that 3/4 of my clothing is completely gone. She said he should have built me a bigger closet.
Mr. Clean and I went to church Saturday night. During our last counseling session before the wedding I heard about this ministry. I actually got to put faces to stories and I was reminded that I'm blessed. There are girls in the world who receive a ticket and before they ever get on the bus they are taken into slavery and sold to the highest bidder. I was touched and reminded how much I want to help.
Sunday morning I went for a 4 mile run. I wore my shoes that I wore on the DC 10 miler race. I realized that the shoes are too heavy and the ones I've been using feel about 1000 times better. I retired those shoes to gym workouts from here out and I'll use the pair of been using until I wear them out then I'll be looking to find another lighter pair. When I went to be fitted for shoes I was given a certain pair, which I bought several times over. I found this lighter pair and they are the same brand but they do not feel as heavy on my feet and I like them a lot better. Live and learn and keep on running!!!
After my run I had time for a nap and then I vacuumed and folded clothes. Girl Clean's mom dropped her off at 12:30. After a quick lunch we went and purchased spices for the spice cabinet. I'm excited at all the yummy meals that are going to be fixed in the coming weeks!!
We hung out, went for a walk and enjoyed our time together. We met Girl Clean's mom at 8:30 and that was the day. It was a productive weekend that went so smoothly. I'm still trying to adjust to my schedule. I do think it's slowly happening!
Happy Monday!!

Perks
I worked last night at the restaurant. Because we are rolling out new menu items I had the opportunity to try a few things.
The duck breast a l'orange, it was nice, served with pureed parsnips and succotash, just the right amount of flavor!!
The apple brined pork chop with the most amazing smokey flavored potato salad and blue cheese apple salad hmmm very nice!!!
The braised lamb shank served with couscous and fabulous arugula on top, perfection!!!
Fried Oyster duo rockafeller style with horseradish cornichon ailoli, YUMMY YES PLEASE!!!
I have eaten at my restaurant three times now. Once for lunch, once for dinner in the restaurant and once for dinner in our lounge area. I'm currently torn between wanting to go back for dinner and knowing that I've been complaining non stop about gaining weight so asking to go eat when I'm complaining and refusing to eat otherwise might not go over very well... Maybe I can figure out a way to make this work somehow...
We added back the Tuna Nicoise to the menu and according to my manager it's better than ever. The fiery mussels that I had last time when I ate in the lounge, I want more!!! So maybe I need to create a reason to celebrate something and then I will have an excuse!!!

Perception
After yesterdays rather gripe-y post I got home to read one of my devotionals about being thankful and how a thankful attitude plays a huge role in your perspective.
I had already realized that my attitude does actually play a huge role in my perception.
It's not been a month. It takes time to adjust. I still have a small pile sitting on the bedroom floor because I don't yet know where it's supposed to go.
I'm thankful. I have to remind myself of this. I am blessed that I have 2 jobs. I am blessed that I worked with a property manager who found a tenant so quickly. I am blessed with families that love me. I am blessed that in one day I suddenly had a family and all I had to do was say I do.
Last year I was told to quit looking for perfect. I could focus on the things that right now seem so huge or I can focus on what I appreciate.

Adjustment
Father's Day weekend my friend texted me about letting us have her old table. I was excited because Mr. Clean had been talking non stop about getting a table. Granted it's not exactly what he had in his head but it was a free table with delivery. To me, I would rather have something then nothing especially when it's nice and it's free and it's BEING DELIVERED. Yet for someone who had to have a table the reaction was not that of excitement.
We were very very blessed by the generosity shown to us in celebration of our wedding. We received gift cards to Bed Bath and Beyond, Pier 1, Marshalls and Lowes. We also received a few Visa gift cards and I got to keep the Kohls and Target gift cards which made me happy!! Except I was in Kohls yesterday and walked into the shoes and then walked away with the thought what is the point.
I've talked about how I had to go through my clothing and shoes and I look at what's left and it still makes me want to cry. I am trying to be positive but it still hurts my feelings. I tried to explain to Mr. Clean that I have and am making compromises and he doesn't really hear because he just comes back with the compromises that he is making...
I had a cute little condo, that was homey. I had family pictures, pictures my mom had given me and knick knacks scattered that had memories attached for me. I didn't really have a style to the place it was just mine and filled with what made me smile and made me feel like I was home. It could be a little cluttered but I didn't care, it didn't bother me.
I had my clothes and shoes and most times they were falling out of the closet but since it was mine it didn't matter over much. I had drawers of the plastic storage variety, you know sterilite that were purchased that were probably more appropriate for a college dorm room but I didn't care they held my clothes and to me that was what mattered.
My bathroom was tiny and I would change out the curtain and mats on a regular basis and I had lots of towels that were soft and fluffy and comfy. I let Jack lay on the couch and he had his own blankets and towels. I had a front end load washing machine and dryer that were awesome and I appreciated having them pretty much every time I used them. I knew the settings, knew how they worked and understood how much detergent I needed to use.
I had a kitchen that I understood and it was small but it worked for me. I knew my oven, knew how to use it. I received compliments on my cookies and brownies and usually anything that I baked was met with rave reviews. I was making no bake stuff over the weekend and everything I did was questioned. I determined I don't really need to bake anymore anyways.
Because we were blessed with gift cards we were able to purchase plates for the table along with place mats to sit them on and because there are place settings the kitchen table never has clutter.
We purchased a new mattress and comforter and instead of family pictures and pictures we already had we had to get stuff that would "go".
In order to try and make a room mine the bathroom has a picture that I love that has scripture verses and pretty drawings along with a framed picture that has our names and scripture verses and I'm happy that these are actually being used. We purchased a butterfly metal decorative wall thing that was hung last night that I think is pretty. The bathroom is my favorite room, fitting since it's where I spend most of my time anyways.
The living room is "styled" and organized and there's never anything out of place unless Girl Clean is there. I love when she is home because then the place looks lived in. As we were hanging stuff last night my opinion was asked several times and I gave an actual answer rather then the I don't care that went through my head.
I really don't care. To me, at this point, I guess I'm still adjusting. I really don't care, maybe I should? I'm trying and adjusting, and hoping that things even out. I'm hoping I adjust to my new work schedule sooner rather then later. I've never been great with change and this is all big changes so most likely a month from now I will be great, it's just the initial getting used to everything, hmmm not so great.

I understand I don't know much
I've been following Mom's who blog since I started working at my full time job. FB was suddenly gone and I followed Hailey's blog. Hailey followed Jess's blog and Jess had Heather's blog on her link and it was a domino effect.
At that time I could click on comments and find other blogs and read and add and it was wonderful!! I found running blogs, more mom blogs, fashion blogs, 20 something blogs. It's been so much fun to read and experience all different sorts of life vicariously through people's blogs.
I've met other bloggers, and LOVE meeting friends in person. Dinner with Jess, Lisa and Becky is one of my favorite moments of this year, and yes I did get married so that is saying something!
I have numerous times over the past few weeks thought back to the blogs about toddlers and been able to relate to Girl Clean's mom about a topic. I think about someone's post and it goes along with the subject and even though I don't have a biological little person I do have a little person and I'm all kinds of excited. Even if my little person is around less then part time. Girl Clean's Mama called me yesterday just to tell me that she was holding off on the doctor visit because she is so quick to go to the doctor and was hoping the fever would come down.
I texted on my way home yesterday afternoon and she said that Girl Clean was feeling better and had dunked the ear thermometer in a glass of water and so she just had to go with the fact that she was playing and seemed to be fine so she must be doing better.
OK to me this is so cool, obviously I'm not an expert regarding children. I think my experience 4 years ago with CF&G has given me a perspective that I would not have had otherwise. Because I was so involved and because I felt that loss so deeply and because I felt so much regret after the fact when I looked back on situations I now have a better grip on the reality that time goes way too fast, that little people are little people and that patience is key. I feel hugely blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of Girl Clean's life. I feel hugely blessed that Girl Clean's mom is amazing and truly on the same page as I am regarding moving forward and forming a relationship. She and I have both been in situations where the mom looked at us as the enemy and we have both seen how destructive this is.
Life is short and I'm thankful that I knew enough to avoid another situation where the baby mama caused nothing but drama. Had Mr. Clean told me that the relationship with Baby Mama was tense or not a good one, I would never have agreed to the first date. Because they have moved past their own awkwardness we can all now contribute to making a wonderful life for Girl Clean.

Holiday Weekend
I hope everyone had a wonderful July 4th holiday!!
When I last left off we were heading to the lake to hang out with Bean and Jelly. I supposed I should back up, I woke up early Saturday morning and took Jack for a walk. I got home and took my shower and started pulling out ALL THE STUFF we were going to need for our few hours at the lake house.
I packed beach towels and regular towels, swimmies, regular pullups, clothes for her, clothes for me, sunscreen, lotion, etc etc etc.... I had all my donation stuff in my trunk. I had yet to manage to squeeze the time to take my stuff to the donation place. Saturday morning I had to, otherwise we were not going to fit everything in the car that we needed.
I found the location no problem, dropped all my stuff off and then returned home to load up the car. I knew it would be a long trip from our house down to the lake, it was an hour and 10 minutes. With a 2 year old and a dog, it felt like forever, but reality 70 minutes, I've had longer runs.
Bean and Jelly had chicken, and corn we had pasta salad and chips, we actually made quite an impressive lunch spread with the combination of our food. In addition to the pasta and chips we brought bread and haystacks, they had tomato, cheese, onion, mayo and mustard. It was a delcious lunch!!
After lunch we went for a swim, girl clean started off with her Dad. When the big wave caused by boat wake got her face that did not go over well. I had her for the rest of the time in the water and it went great. By this time it was getting to be nap time and we had 1 meltdown before we got her in the car to head back.
We got Jack settled at home, did a quick change of our clothes and headed to church. Our favorite is the Saturday night service that starts at 6 because it's much more laid back and gives us all day Sunday to relax. We were a little behind time wise but since it was a holiday weekend it was not too difficult to find parking.
Sunday was Mr. Clean's birthday. I woke up feeling like I had been hit by a truck. I was supposed to run and instead I went back to sleep. I could not taste anything and I knew I was going to have to eat at his birthday lunch we were having with his family. I got girl clean in the bath and ready to go and we were at his parents at the appointed time. The meal was delicious, he had asked for chicken fajitas and they did a great job pulling everything together.
After lunch and some quality time we had to get Girl Clean home for her nap. She is pretty consistent when it comes to behavior when she is tired.
Sunday night I was in bed early and Monday morning I got a 5 mile run in with Jack. It felt awesome, except for the heat, it' was already hot at 6:30 yesterday morning. Girl Clean's mom picked her up at 10 and Mr. Clean and I headed to Ikeea to try and find some odds and ends. What we did not find at that store we did find in a few other places and he has a lot of hanging to do but when it's all done our place will look the way he wants it to.
I personally thought the house was fine as it was but this is coming from the girl who really didn't have any true sense of house style in her condo. I love clothes and shoes and the condo was comfortable and homey. I had family pictures and momentos and it suited me just fine. Mr. Clean has a different view point and to me it's not worth fighting over so I just let him do whatever and when he asks me I say yes that looks nice.
He put together the fixings for chicken pitas and we had an awesome dinner and watched Baby Mama. It ended up being a great weekend, which was nice. It's been an adjustment period over these past few weeks so having a mostly good laid back weekend and time together is a blessing.

Free Friday
Knowing I had Friday off was a nice feeling. I allowed myself to sleep in for a bit. I went to the social security office and officially changed my name.
I took Jack for a run. I came home and cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed, changed the bed, I was super productive. I agreed to meet Mama clean, my 2 nieces and girl clean at the pool in the afternoon. Mr. Clean's birthday is Sunday and I didn't have a card yet so in my bathing suit, shorts, tank top and no makeup I ran into the local mall to the hallmark store. I walked fast because I hate going anywhere looking like that but it was important to me to make sure I had his birthday cards.
The pool was so much fun and wore girl clean out, which meant she has actually slept through the night, this is a wonderful thing!!! It's early yet so I'm getting ready to sneak out to get to the gym before we go to the lake for the day to hang out with Bean and Jelly.

computer training puppy training and work
What is it about computer training that sucks the energy out of a person? This week I participated in training for a new system roll out. I will be working in one of the pilot states which meant that I had to sit through training all day Tuesday and half a day Wednesday.
Monday I worked all day long. Tuesday it was all I could do to stay awake on my drive in. I now have an hour commute each way. I'm still adjusting to my new schedule which includes 3 nights a week at the restaurant. I wake up at 5, Monday, Wednesday and Friday I usually won't be home until close to 11pm. I will adjust, I can do this, it's just a matter of adjusting my body to it.
Tuesday we had training from 8-5. In order to make up time to leave early on Thursday I arrived at work at 7:15. By the time 5pm Tuesday rolled around I was in serious zombie state. I arrived home and Jack had torn a hole in the carpet. Which meant that the rest of the night did not go well, at all.
Jack is my baby, I love him to pieces. I've also realized that he needs to be crated when no one is home. It's his space, his safe place and he knows that he is secure and where he is supposed to be. The crate he has during the day is large and actually for a much larger dog then Jack. Mr. Clean felt bad for Jack being crated all day and tried to be nice by baby gating him in the kitchen so he could make a trip to the store. He came home and the carpet was destroyed. Had he texted and asked me about leaving Jack out like that I would have said no please crate him. With a dog you can't punish behavior after the fact. You have to control the environment and not allow them to find trouble.
At my condo once Jack was trained I was able to let him have run of the living room and kitchen and I shut the bedroom and bathroom doors. In the new house JB is learning the rules, and he will it just takes time.
Wednesday I had another 1/2 day of training followed by working at the restaurant. I was SOOOO happy Thursday was my Friday. I left work on Thursday and I know it will be waiting for me but I needed to get away, mentally I need to be away from both jobs for a while.
Monday I worked all day long. Tuesday it was all I could do to stay awake on my drive in. I now have an hour commute each way.
