Fears

I'm sure you've received one of those "getting to know you emails" where sometimes the question is what do you fear? For me I realized that it's actually about to happen, the thing that I've feared for year. I'm about to turn 30 this year and I'm not married and I have no children. I don't even have a marriage prospect. Last year I walked thru a valley so dark. I learned to lean on the Lord and not my own strength. I faltered, I made mistakes, and yet He was always there. He provided people in my life to lift me up and encourage me. I read a devotional this morning about a woman who had feared her marriage breaking up and a child being born with a birth defect. This was before she ever got married or had children. Her 3rd child was born with a birth defect and the resulting strain on her marriage nearly caused her marriage to end. It was thru those experiences that God grew her faith. She had to lean entirely on Him and His strength.
The power verses that were a part of this devotional were:
Isaiah 41:10, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Isaiah 43:1b, "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine."

Genesis 15:1, "After this, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward."

In each of these I am reminded that God is in control. That He cares for us. I still struggle with letting go of things and yet God is so faithful and He loves us so much. Does this mean that I am not supposed to obey, absolutely not. God loves us no matter what, no conditions no strings. But Jesus told us that if we love God then we will do as He says. He says this a couple different ways but each time says the same thing. So if I say that I love God but continue to willfully do my own thing then I am just giving lip service and not really giving my whole heart to Him.

Isaiah 60: 1-2

Isaiah 60: 1-2 "1) Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. 2) See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you."
Last night was the first class in a several week series I will be attending. The scripture verse for the series itself is Jeremiah 29:11. The scripture given for my particular class has been Isaiah 60:1-2.
I find it interesting as I have been thinking so often of late at the darkness that seems ready to overwhelm everything. The previous year of my life has been a constant walk in learning and faith and leaning not on my own understanding. I felt a few weeks ago that the Lord was telling me to be a light. I pray often that I will be a light to those that I come in contact with. In the day to day stresses of life it's sometimes easy to forget the perspective that I am a living testament to the Heavenly Father and His love for us. Even this morning driving to work and becoming so frustrated at the driver in front of me.
Before these classes started I had been assailed with doubts. I did not want to go. It took everything I had to get up and leave my house and go to class. I was terrified walking thru the door to that class. In the weeks leading up to this I have been trying to focus on being single but I have come across situations where I have fallen back into old habits.
As the class began I had such peace. I was where I am supposed to be. The sermon series at church as been on being a disciple. The first rule to being a disciple is to obey. Yesterday afternoon as I was leaving work still debating on whether or not I was going to go the Lord very clearly spoke to me that I was to obey. Sunday at church for the first time ever at the church I grew up in I raised my hands in surrender and worship. I felt like I was being told that it was my act of surrender to him to let go of the cares and the bondage holding me back and lift my hands in prayer. I was obedient to that. I was obedient last night in that I dragged my feet thru that door and placed myself in the chair.
Interestingly enough I made the unwise decision to leave the puppy in the crate. I do not understand my thinking and this made me worry the whole last part of the video about the fact that he had been in the crate for way too long. Next week I will leave him in his pen. I had walked him, taken him for a walk, fed him. I heard the Lord telling me he is my creation and I will take care of him but even still I was so worried at the fact that I had left him in the crate for too long.
One of the things mentioned last night (the message was actually on walking in the spirit) was that the way the enemy attacks us is through doubt and disbelief. From the begining when I signed up for this class I have been questioning whether I was supposed to be there and if this is really necessary and it has been a constant attack on my thoughts as to me actually going. Now that I've gone to the first class I have no doubts that this is where I'm supposed to be. Now I just have to be aware and watchful because I know that there is a purpose to me being in these classes and I also know that the enemy does not want me to fulfill this purpose. I know that I'm on the verge of something very important but I have to stay focused on where the Lord is calling and leading me.

Driving in Charlotte

I have the unique opportunity of driving on Independence Blvd in Charlotte every morning anywhere between 6-6:30 am. Now with the puppy it's usually about 6:30 and traffic is quite a bit heavier as the Matthews, Monroe traffic is making the commute to uptown.
Growing up my Dad used to always get so frustrated as we would be trying to merge into traffic and the car in front of us would be slowing down or stopping.
I now have that very same frustration. This morning in particular I thought I was going to have a stroke my blood pressure shot up so high. I'm behind this car and thinking, perhaps I should go ahead and pass them" but I didn't know if I had enough time so I thought no it will be ok. I should have passed them.
They are on the Wendover exit merging to Independence and traffic is heavy and steady. They start slowing down at the bottom and all but stop. I'm able to merge and I believe in Karma so therefor I keep the space open in front of me so they can get over and they just keep crawling in front of me. REALLY IF I'M TRYING TO LET YOU IN SPEED UP AND GET OVER. Even after they got over they were still on going about 30 in a 50 zone.
The other place I run into this a lot is when I'm on the 277 ramp to merge to 77 n. Nothing is more frustrating then being behind a car that is slowing down or stopping when oncoming traffic is moving at 55+!!!!
Nothing I can do about it all. It's just one of those things that you vent about and then move on with your day =)

Couple Things

I'm tired which usually exacerbates my emotions. My friend delivered a beautiful healthy little girl yesterday. I'm so excited for her and her husband. They didn't know if they were having a boy or girl and as of right now I still don't know what her name is. I don't see how my friends can not find out if they are having a boy or girl, I know they tell me that it's one of those few surprises you can still have but for me I want to know so I can plan accordingly.
I was talking to my friend last night and she was telling me about the b'day party for the little girl who is the daughter of the guy I dated 2006-07. They put on the invitation no gifts but if you must then please no dolls. This is no longer my life and I understand that but I just feel like this will come back to haunt them. You can try all you want to make a kid be something she's not but ultimately she will resent you for it. I continue to pray that the people put in her path will draw her closer to Jesus. It is much easier this year then last with her birthday this Saturday. I understand how much better it is for me that I'm no longer in that situation. It still stings just a little but I know if I was still there I would be miserable.
I'm happy I have this Saturday off at the restaurant again. I am supposed to start these classes tonight and the biggest part of me just does not want to show up at all. I'm going to at least go to the first class. I spent so much money that I need to at least try one. I understand that I'm tired which means I'm overly emotional. I keep praying for a new job, I know I'm here until God decides it's time to move me somewhere else.
So much going thru my thoughts right now.

What I wish I could write

Why I haven't let go of the BG girlfriend I'm not sure. The ironic thing is she and I both graduated from App with communication degrees. Maybe b/c I feel like she's a woman I would be friends with and it bugs me no end that I can't contact her and say, hey I think there is something you should know.
I've thought about it but I just know that if the situation was reversed i would think the woman was crazy and blow the whole thing off. I mean when you're dating someone and you have been for a while why would you believe some random message from a total stranger.
The thing is I have documented all this stuff on here. I could very easily just send her a message saying hey I think there is some interesting reading go check out this blog. But again, I'm a perfect stranger and it would just come across as psycho rather than helpful. She would not know my intentions or have any reason to trust me at all.
So I'll write the little note on here:

Dear BG Girlfriend,
I know you don't know me and I am contacting you out of the blue. We actually have a common link, I briefly went out with you boyfriend when he first moved to Charlotte back in April of 2006. He has sent me text messages off and on for the past couple of years now. I've actually heard from him recently. Once I found out he had a girlfriend I told him if he did not quit contacting me I would have to contact you. This is the purpose of this correspondence. I keep a blog and I believe that you might find a few of my posts interesting. The month of February there is a post on February 2, 2009 of a text conversation. Then February 5, 2009 I inadvertently found out he has a girlfriend, you, and I put 2 posts on that day. I write to you and provide these links because if you wish to read them it may cast a new light on the person you are dating. I did not contact you when I found out about you because if I was in your position I would just think that this woman is crazy and there is nothing important that she has to say. I also felt like as long as your boyfriend did not contact me further there was no need to cause any unnecessary drama. I simply write to provide you information it is up to you if you want to read the postings or not.

Regards,
Me

I actually feel better. I've not heard from BG and I believe that he knows I'm serious and he had better not contact me. What he probably does not realize is the fact that if he contacts me again I will check her FB to see if she is still listed in a relationship and if she is I will move forward with contacting her.

Fireproof - Spoiler Alert

I watched this movie for the first time last night. If you have not seen it stop reading this and go watch it. I was truly blown away by the movie.
The story begins with Caleb and Kathryn Holt. He's a fire fighter captain, she works PR for a hospital. They have been married for 7 years and things have gone bad. He doesn't understand what's happened in the past year but really for her it has been going on much longer. She has a handsome doctor at the hospital pursuing here and she is intrigued. The handsome doctor listens to her and cares about what she has to say. Her mother has suffered a stroke and has the need for a wheelchair and hospital bed. Caleb is saving up for a boat.
They have a huge fight and she tells him she just wants out. He is talking to his parents and his Dad challenges him to a 40 day Love Challenge. There is a book/journal and each day is something different to do for your spouse. Caleb begins to try and do these things. The first 20 days his heart just isn't in it. Then he and his Dad have a heart to heart and they are out in this place that apparently used to be a summer camp. there is a cross and stumps for benches. Caleb and his Dad are talking and his Dad is explaining to him that until he accepted Jesus he didn't know what true love was. Once he accepted Jesus it changed everything for him. Caleb tells his father that he doesn't need a "crutch".
I'm taking a break to insert commentary here. How many times have I heard this said. I don't need religion, I don't need God, I don't need a crutch, I don't think I believe in God or Jesus. Each time I hear this it hurts my heart. Jesus came and died on a cross for us. He desires a personal intimate relationship with us. He is not a crutch!! In Him, Thru Him, With Him, we are. We were made in His image to serve Him. He is NOT a crutch but our actual reason for being here.
Back to the movie. Caleb tells his Dad how am I supposed to do this when she keeps rejecting me and keeps rejecting me and I keep trying. In the movie his Dad is leaning on the cross so the cross is beside him. It is at this moment that Caleb finally gets it. He keeps pushing the Lord away and pushing the Lord away and rejecting Him and yet the Lord keeps pursuing him. Finally he accepts Jesus as Lord and Savior of his life. It's the turning point of the movie.
His attitude towards Kathryn changes. He throws out his computer. He battles a pornography addiction and on the day he takes a baseball bat to his computer and throws it away he puts Roses on the desk with a note that says I love you more. Kathryn is just not having any of this. She's been too hurt and the next day she puts divorce papers on the table for him.
There is a fire and Caleb is hurt. He's at the hospital treated by the doctor who is pursuing Kathryn. She doesn't really react to the fact that he is hurt. Shortly after this she finds out that a new hospital bed and wheelchair have been purchased for her mom. She thinks it's the doctor who has made the purchase. Of course this makes her think he's wonderful.
Meanwhile Caleb is cleaning the house and find a note from the doctor. He goes in and confronts the doctor. He tells him that he's not giving up Kathryn and since he's already married to her he has better shot. This is the scene where the doctor pulls out his own wedding ring but then puts it back in the drawer but then you see him leave Kathryn alone.
Kathryn is home sick and Caleb brings her Chick Fil A. She asks him why he's doing all this and he tells her it's a love dare. She pulls out the journal that she found and told him she's just not sure. He gets down on his knees and asks for her forgiveness. After everything she's just not sure she can and she tells him this.
The turning point for her is when she goes in to buy sheets for the hospital bed and the lady inadvertantly tells her that it's actually her husband who paid for the bed and the wheelchair. This is when Kathryn realizes it's the real deal.
Something I've forgotten to mention is how short Caleb always is with his own mother. It's his dad that he has all these conversation with. It reminded me of my own brother in a lot of ways and how he is with my mom. In one of the final scenes he and his Dad have a conversation and his Dad tells him it's his mom who did the love dare on him. That he re-wrote the journal but his mom was the first one to do this. So there is a scene immediately after this where Caleb runs home and asks his mom's forgiveness.
The final scene is the renewal of the vows between Caleb and Kathryn.

I cried thru most of this movie. I'm emotional this week anyways but it truly was that good! There are so many thoughts going through my head still from everything I saw. One of the things stated is that even when you don't feel in love anymore it is a choice that you make. You can't really understand love until you understand that God IS love! John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He sent His only Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have eternal life". There is no greater love then the love of our Heavenly Father for us. Whether married or not this movie is just such a great one to watch!

1 Year

It hit me as I was driving in to work this morning. Today is the 1 year of when we found out my Grandaddy had tumors all over his body. It would be a roller coaster of emotion for the next several weeks. We would watch our strong Daddy/Grandaddy go thru untold pain and suffering. He would have friends come to sit by his side and tell him goodbye and how much he meant to them. He would have friends come to share with him about Jesus. My prayer the day we found out was that he would know Jesus and be saved and that the Lord would not take him home until he was ready. I truly believe when Grandaddy passed away on April 12, 2008 that he was going home. I had prayed the night before that Lord if he's ready please take away his suffering.
In heaven there is no more pain, no more suffering. There is joy and rejoicing. In this world we experience hardship and pain but this world is not forever. Our Heavenly Father loves us and desires to have a personal relationship with us.

Thankful for the Thorns

This was an email that I had to share!

Thankful for the Thorns

Sandra felt as low as the heels of her shoes when she pulled open the florist shop door, against a November gust of wind. Her life had been as sweet as a spring breeze and then, in the fourth month of her second pregnancy, a "minor" automobile accident stole her joy. This was Thanksgiving week and the time she should have delivered their infant son. She grieved over their loss.

Troubles had multiplied.

Her husband's company "threatened" to transfer his job to a new location. Her sister had called to say that she could not come for her long awaited holiday visit. What's worse, Sandra's friend suggested that Sandra's grief was a God-given path to maturity that would allow her to empathize with others who suffer. "She has no idea what I'm feeling,"
thought Sandra with a shudder "Thanksgiving? Thankful for what?" she wondered. "For a careless driver whose truck was hardly scratched when he rear-ended me? For an airbag that saved my life, but took my child's?"

"Good afternoon, can I help you?"

Sandra was startled by the approach of the shop clerk. "I . . . I need an arrangement," stammered Sandra

"For Thanksgiving? I'm convinced that flowers tell stories, " she continued. "Are you looking for something that conveys 'gratitude' this Thanksgiving?"

"Not exactly!" Sandra blurted out. "In the last five months, everything that could go wrong has gone wrong."

Sandra regretted her outburst, and was surprised when the clerk said, "I have the perfect arrangement for you."

Then the bell on the door rang, and the clerk greeted the new customer...

"Hi, Barbara, let me get your order." She excused herself and walked back to a small workroom, then quickly reappeared, carrying an arrangement of greenery, bows, and what appeared to be long-stemmed thorny roses. Except the ends of the rose stems were neatly s nipped:
there were no flowers.

"Do you want these in a box?" asked the clerk. Sandra watched - was this a joke? Who would want rose stems with no flowers! She waited for laughter, but neither woman laughed.

"Yes, please," Barbara replied with an appreciative smile "You'd think after three years of getting the special, I wouldn't be so moved by its significance, but I can feel it right here, all over again," she said, as she gently tapped her chest.

Sandra stammered, "Ah, that lady just left with . . .. uh . . .. she left with no flowers!"

"That's right," said the clerk. "I cut off the flowers. That's the 'Special'. I call it the Thanksgiving Thorns Bouquet. Barbara came into the shop three years ago, feeling much as you do today," explained the clerk. "She thought she had very little to be thankful for. She had just lost her father to cancer; the family business was failing; her son had gotten into drugs; and she was facing major surgery. That same year I had lost my husband," continued the clerk. "For the first time in my life, I had to spend the holidays alone. I had no children, no husband, no family nearby, and too much debt to allow any travel."

"So what did you do?" asked Sandra.

"I learned to be thankful for thorns," answered the clerk quietly. "I've always thanked God for the good things in my life and I never questioned Him why those good things happened to me, but when the bad stuff hit, I cried out, 'Why? Why me?!' It took time for me to learn that the dark times are important to our faith! I have always enjoyed the 'flowers' of my life, but it took the thorns to show me the beauty of God's comfort!
You know, the Bible says that God comforts us when we're afflicted, and from His consolation we learn to comfort others."

Sandra sucked in her breath, as she thought about what her friend had tried to tell her. "I guess the truth is I don't want comfort. I've lost a baby and I'm angry with God."

Just then someone else walked in the shop.

"Hey, Phil!" the clerk greeted the balding, rotund man.

"My wife sent me in to get our usual Thanksgiving arrangement . . twelve thorny, long-stemmed stems!" laughed Phil as the clerk handed him a tissue wrapped arrangement from the refrigerator.

"Those are for your wife?" asked Sandra incredulously. "Do you mind telling me why she wants a bouquet that looks like that?"

"Four years ago, my wife and I nearly divorced," Phil replied. "After forty years, we were in a real mess, but with the Lord's grace and guidance, we trudged through problem after problem, the Lord rescued our marriage. Jenny here (the clerk) told me she kept a vase of rose stems to remind her of what she had learned from "thorny" times. That was good enough for me. I took home some of those stems. My wife and I decided to label each one for a specific "problem" and give thanks for what that problem taught us."

As Phil paid the clerk, he said to Sandra, "I highly recommend the Special!"

"I don't know if I can be thankful for the thorns in my life" Sandra said to the clerk. "It's all too . . fresh."

"Well," the clerk replied carefully, "my experience has shown me that the thorns make the roses more precious. We treasure God's providential care more during trouble than at any other time. Remember that it was a crown of thorns that Jesus wore so we might know His love....Don't resent the thorns."

Tears rolled down Sandra's cheeks. For the first time since the accident, she loosened her grip on her resentment. "I'll take those twelve long-stemmed thorns, please," she managed to choke out.

"I hoped you would," said the clerk gently. "I'll have them ready in a minute."

"Thank you. What do I owe you?"

"Nothing. Nothing but a promise to allow God to heal your heart...The first year's arrangement is always on me."

The clerk smiled and handed a card to Sandra. "I'll attach this card to your arrangement, but maybe you would like to read it first."

It read: "My God, I have never thanked You for my thorns. I have thanked You a thousand times for my roses, but never once for my thorns. Teach me the glory of the cross I bear; teach me the value of my thorns. Show me that I have climbed closer to You along the path of pain. Show me that, through my tears, the colors of Your rainbow look much more brilliant."

Praise Him for the roses; thank Him for the thorns.

God Bless all of you. Be thankful for all that the Lord does for you.

"Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God."

We often try to fix problems with WD-40 and Duct tape.

God did it with nails.

New Puppy

I adopted Jack Banner on Friday. He is the sweetest, cutest, best little puppy dog! He's a mix of a beagle, chihuauha, dachsund and he is very intelligent! I had a lot of people opposed to the idea of me with a dog. I had been contemplating a rescue dog for about a year and a half. There were 2 who I really wanted to take home, Palmer (a poodle dachsund mix) and Banner the dog my friend's boyfriend found on a moutain in banner elk.
Whenever my friend Margaret comes to visit she brings my niece Pippin, a beagle. I went to see my friend Susan and she has Bandit and Toby, a Min Pin and a Dachsund. They are all so sweet and it's been a really hard thing to not have a dog of my own. With my schedule I knew it would not be fair to a dog. I found a loop hole last week. My new roommate moved in and she was very pro-dog. She agreed to help me out and has been really cool with the chaos that enveloped the house after Jack moved in.
While I'm functioning on extreme lack of sleep I would not trade this. I never knew I could get so attached to a little puppy so fast! He is all baby and I just love him! I'm a little freaked at all the stuff I'm supposed to teach him but I guess that just comes in time.

Love Story

My Grandparents love story is one of my favorite of all time. They met at a dance right around Valentines and had their first date on Valentines. The night they met Grandaddy was wearing a shirt that showed his airforce rank and he had just been promoted from Sargeant to Corporal that day. (I think that's the correct ranks).
My Grandparents started dating in February and were married in October. Last February 20th was when they found the tumors all over Grandaddy's body and he passed away April 12, 2008. This year has been bittersweet as we've gone thru each holiday with that missing link.
Grandmommy had really dreaded this Valentines but she said her friends and family made it wonderful for her. Last night my brother and I took her to dinner. At dinner she told their love story, we both love to hear it! Then she told us when she was cleaning out his things she found wrapped up that shirt that he was wearing the night he met her. All these years he had kept that shirt. They also found all the cards we had ever given him for birthday's and father's day. Grandaddy could be incredibly gruff but there has never been a question with any of us as to whether or not he loved us.
I hope that someday I find a man who will love me as much as my Grandaddy loved my Grandmommy!

Meet Jack Banner

Thank you Aunt Paula for coming and taking my picture!!

Email: God's Accuracy

GOD'S ACCURACY

How lovely to think about the way our Creator God planned everything so carefully and perfectly, everything with a plan. As His highest creation, 'we are fearfully and wonderfully made.'

God's accuracy may be observed in the hatching of eggs.
For example, the eggs of the potato bug hatch in 7 days;
Those of the canary in 14 days;
Those of the barnyard hen in 21 days.
The eggs of ducks and geese hatch in 28 days;
The eggs of the parrot and the ostrich hatch in 42 days.
(Notice, they are all divisible by seven).

God's wisdom is seen in the making of an elephant. The four legs of this great beast all bend forward in the same direction. No other Quadruped is so made. God planned that this animal would have a huge body, too large to live on two legs. For this reason He gave it four fulcrums so that it can rise from the ground easily.
The horse rises from the ground on its two front legs first.

A cow rises from the ground with its two hind legs first.

How wise the Lord is in all His works of creation! God's wisdom is revealed in His arrangement of sections and segments, as well as in the number of grains.

Each watermelon has an even number of stripes on the rind.

Each orange has an even number of segments.

Each ear of corn has an even number of rows.

Each stalk of wheat has an even number of grains.

Every bunch of bananas has, on its lowest row, an even number of bananas, and each row decreases by one, so that one row has an even number and the next row an odd number.

The waves of the sea roll in on shore twenty-six to the minute in all kinds of weather.

All grains are found in even numbers on the stalks.

The Lord specified thirty fold, sixty fold, and a hundredfold - all even numbers.

God has caused the flowers to blossom at certain specified times during the day, so that Linneus, the great botanist, once said that if he had a conservatory
containing the right kind of soil, moisture and temperature, he could tell the time of day or night by the flowers that were open and those that were closed!

Thus the Lord in His wonderful grace can arrange the life that is entrusted to His care in such a way that it will carry out His purposes and plans, and will be fragrant with His presence. Only the God-planned life is successful. Only the life given over to the care of the Lord is safe.

Respect

I had to ponder why the whole situation with BG bothered me. I had no feelings for him other than annoyance and mild dislike before and now I would say contempt and a few other things. I think the reason this all hit me so hard is because while I always thought he was annoying I never pegged him for a scum bag. He's contacted me on more than one occasion asking for friends with benefits and he has a girlfriend. I never considered friends with benefits, I don't do that anymore I respect myself enough to understand that scenario is not ok.
So I look at her profile again and her status says she's surrounded by our dog and 2 kitties. That means she is at his house. She is friends with his sister in law on facebook. They have obviously been dating a while. I just saw red. You don't do what he did to a woman. I'm upset for her b/c I put myself in her shoes. I've had guys cheat on me. It tears you up inside b/c you wonder why you're not good enough.
I had to send one more email to him, this time personal email to personal email. in the subject I stated "you do not have to respond to this" in the message I stated that "you have managed to surprise me for once and not in a good way. You messaged me new years eve and Sunday and you have a girlfriend and she is obviously there with you right now. I never pegged you for a jerk. Lose my number, Lose my email do not contact me again. I've lost all respect for you today"

One thing I realized a long time ago is that I have to be able to respect someone I'm in a relationship with. Once I lose respect for that person I can no longer date them. I respect my girlfriends, thru all the ups and downs we've been thru I have tremendous respect. I respect my parents, my family. Respect is the one thing you have until you take it away from me. This whole situation has made me realize that there are good guys out there they are just few and very far between.

This also has really brought home the fact that my relationship with the Lord is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing. He is all I need, He is the one Man who will never leave me, disappoint me, or hurt me, He is the one who has every single one of my best interests at His heart.

I'm so lucky

So the previous two posts have been about this a#$hole guy I dated for a minute but he's never gone away and April of this year will be 3 years. Today I sent an email to the girls in my life who understand me so well. I'm lucky enough to have friends in my life who give me the listening ear and feed back that I needed after a blip like this. This guy doesn't matter, he never has. yet the whole situation just really ticked me off. I guess maybe b/c it made me question if there are actually any decent guys left at all. Despite all his faults I would never ever have thought he would do something so unbelievably low.
To follow up on the previous post I could not resist sending a facebook message to BG stating "I'm sure the concert would have been fun but don't you think your girlfriend would be upset?" This was all I said. I go back 30 minutes later and the loser has pulled his FB profile entirely. To me this is an absolute admission of guilt.
Tonight as I've talked via email and messaging to my girls it has made me laugh and let go and know that despite the fact that guys are more often then not losers with no redeeming qualities my girls will always be there!

update to the Sunday story

So I was taking a facebook break. I'm nosy like that. Ballantyne Guy is on fb now. So I happen to click on one of his friends and it was quite interesting what I found. I thought he was dating someone this summer, yeah he was he took her to Maui, she had pics of the trip. Add to that she's listed in a relationship, and there are pics of game night, at BG's house that were just posted 2/1. I'm seriously curious why he's contacting me when he's with this chick. She graduated from App in 93 and lives in Huntersville.

Right now I'm just blown away at what a low life he is. Obviously I didn't like him before but NOW NOW I THINK HE'S a a*(&)*)*()& and when he contacts me again, b/c you know he will I'm going to ask how (insert her name here) is doing.

OMG I'm just so freaking pi(*&&* off I can't stand him anyways and right now I just want to send a nasty hate email but if I do that then he'll think it means that I'm jealous and I'm not I just think he's an *&^%$# my blood pressure shot up so fast I now have a headache. I CAN'T STAND HIM why did I ever have to meet him. AND WHY THE H$%# DID SHE GET TO GO ON THE TRIPS AND ALL I EVER HAD GOT WAS A BUNCH OF B*&$#@@@T. Reality b/c I would have killed him and I can't stand him and I know I couldn't spend more than an hour with him without wanting to shoot him.

The producer I work with told me I should email him and say you know I was really thinking about the concert but don't you think your girlfriend might be upset. I mean she has herself listed in a relationship and has pics of them in a bunch of her albums.

I can't stand him, I've never been able to stand him and I need to stop thinking about it. Thank goodness I'm focusing on being single b/c right now I am so tired of having to deal with the b.s. of which this is a prime example.

Sometimes Men are so awful!

The following is a condensed version of my text conversation last night with Ballanytne guy. To refresh memories he is the one who makes a TON of money and has the big house in Ballantyne and will NOT give up. New Years Eve I told him I want to kill you after 5 minutes in your presence and we have nothing in common.

BG: "Did you see me during the half time show?" (He is a huge Springsteen fan and goes to a ton of his concerts)
Me: "No I was driving home but I figured you might be there."

BG: "I still want to see you"
Me: "No you don't."

BG: "Yes I do why won't you give me a chance to show you how much I will spoil you, etc etc etc... all stuff that has been said before"
Me: "no it never works, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result."

BG: "I'm not saying date each other I'm saying be friends with benefits, that's different."
Me: "No"

BG: "You know I never give up"
Me: "You know I never give in. Watch the game have fun"

BG: "why won't you give me a chance it will be different"
Me: "no watch the game have fun"

BG: "ok well if you change your mind let me know"

So I'm thinking about how much I want to go to the Billy Joel/Elton John concert that's here in March. I'm thinking that I'll give him the chance to prove to me that he's not a complete and total tool or as a friend of mine would say, douche. So I send a text message. "If you get tix to the Billy Joel/Elton John Concert I will hang out with you. No benefits involved but I will buy your dinner"
Response: "I can get tix no problem (and he can I know this) but there would have to be benefits involved." which just proved yet again why he's an
a$%. He seriously doesn't get the fact that he has no concept of right and wrong b/c if you really wanted to hang out with me as much as he says he does he would get those tickets and go and not expect anything afterwards.
My answer to him was never mind then. He responded that the tix would probably be front row and back stage (and he's not bluffing they would be) but to me there is just something fundamentally wrong with expecting benefits (ie:sex) for tickets. Seriously I'm not "that" kind of girl and but since I brought up the whole conversation while I can believe him to be an a@# I also have to remember I put the topic out there. If I was not SO BROKE right now I would totally buy my own tickets.
