We got back from Beaufort and I returned to reality.
Monday March 31 I had my joint meeting with Daron and the counselor at the church.
The meeting did not go well. In fact it was downright awful. He argued with the counselor for a good 20 minutes once the guidelines had been laid out. But she was firm. 90 AA meetings in 90 days, take it or leave it.
He was furious. His texts to me, because he was allowed to send one I love you text a day, were not very nice nor were they expressions of love.
But he went to the meetings, and he got a sponsor, and he started working the steps.
Last week the text messages became more pleasant.
Today I got a text message telling me that he would not be sending the one text message a day because his sponsor told him he needs to focus on his recovery. More than anything else that he could have ever sent me this to me was an incredibly HUGE deal.
I've been in Al-Anon going on 3 years. I know that the program works when you work it. I know that he was adamantly opposed to AA.
I know, also, that he voluntarily went over to spend time with A, and didn't leave until it was time to go to his meeting.
We're only 18 days into the process. Things could change. I don't know what will happen between now and June 28 but I'm watching.
When I left I said I was done and there was no way I would or could ever consider going back. But my heart's desire is to be the woman that God is calling me to be. This does not mean going back to an unacceptable nor intolerable situation. I have a meeting with the counselor to address the concerns I have and things that would absolutely hands down have to change.
I can't deny that true, real, repentant change is happening. I face incredible obstacles due to the situation and what it has happened in the past. But I know that if God is working, then He can work out all the details with my family too.
I started writing a long time ago. I write to get my thoughts out of my head. I write to remember. I write about everything and nothing in particular.

Mom's Birthday in Beaufort
When last I wrote I was preparing for the trip to Beaufort, SC with my mom and aunt. We had an absolute blast!!!!
Sunday morning after breakfast we headed home. I honestly love the SC low country. There is something magical about it! I really want to go back. What I didn't know was that Edisto is right next to Hunting and I have wanted to get back to Edisto since my first visit in 2007. I'm going to plan something at some point to get back!
